Blaine Bortnick, Esq., Partner with Rasco Klock, Achieves Large Recoveries in a Trio of Trials

Rasco Klock Partner Blaine Bortnick, Esq., based in the firm’s New York office, recently prevailed in three trials and obtained substantial awards for the firm’s clients.  In one case he achieved a $2.5 million arbitration award against J.P. Morgan Securities in connection with the termination of the client’s employment.  The award was confirmed by the Supreme Court for the State of New York.  The client was terminated by J.P. Morgan Securities for allegedly engaging in a structuring transaction in an effort to avoid the Bank Secrecy Act reporting requirements, and these allegations were reported on his public industry record.  After a trial, a FINRA arbitration panel awarded the client $2.5 million in damages and that his securities industry record be expunged.

In a second case, he obtained a jury verdict in excess of $6 million for a client against an employer in connection with the wrongful termination of the client’s employment.  The case was tried in the Supreme Court for the State of New York.

In a third case, he obtained a very substantial arbitration award for a client in a commercial dispute against a private credit fund.
